Processing Track: Mineral Processing, Refining and Recycling
How rock becomes metal and old batteries become new ones: crushing, separation, leaching, lithium, recycling and the lockout and confined-space rules that keep plant crews alive.
Processing covers mills, refineries, battery plants and recycling lines.

What's in it
Module 1: Crush, grind, separate
Ore comes out of the ground as rock with a small amount of valuable mineral locked inside.
Module 2: Leaching, electrowinning and lithium
Some ores are processed with chemistry instead of flotation.
Module 3: Battery recycling
Lithium-ion batteries hold lithium, nickel, cobalt, manganese, copper and aluminum.
Module 4: Plant safety: lockout, confined space, chemicals
Plants are full of stored energy: motors, conveyors, pressurized lines, gravity and chemicals.
The full lessons, quizzes and final test are open to crew members. Joining is free.
