Position Summary
The Industrial Hygienist & Ergonomist intern will work closely with the environmental, health, and safety team by identifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace health and comfort risks, with a focus on chemical, physical, and biological exposures as well as ergonomic risk factors for new processes associated with the Galeton expansion project. This role partners with operations, facilities, HR, and safety teams to develop and implement programs that prevent occupational illness and injury, improve employee well ‑ being, and support regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Industrial Hygiene
Conduct qualitative and quantitative exposure assessments for chemical, physical (noise, radiation, temperature), and biological hazards in production, laboratory, office, and field environments.
Develop and execute industrial hygiene sampling plans using appropriate equipment (e.g., air sampling pumps, dosimeters, direct ‑ reading instruments).
Analyze sampling data, interpret results against regulatory and consensus standards (e.g., OSHA PELs, ACGIH TLVs), and recommend control measures. …
